Impressions:

World of WarCraft or “WarCrack” as it is commonly known on the street, is a great game don’t get me wrong. It is the best massive multiplayer online role playing game (mmorpg) to date. However it is extremely addictive! To those who play it, you know what I am talking about. To those who don’t, kiss your lives good bye (those thinking of suicide, pick this game up, it will give you something to hang on to). Without a doubt it is a real virtual world. People go to the World of WarCraft (WOW) to hang out, chat and slay foul creatures that roam the land.

In WOW thousands of people can come to your world and interact in a virtual environment that has time that passes by even when you are not there. In the World of Warcraft one hour our time is one day their time. You can create your character\s (a total of 10) quite easily. When picking your character you must first choose if you would like to join the Alliance (Human, Night Elf, Dwarf, Gnome) or Horde (Orc, Undead, Troll, Tauran). Then you can choose the sex and finally the appearance. The character customization is decent. But not as good as is expected in the world of online gaming.

With out a doubt Blizzard may have the most popular MMORPG of all time on their hands. Recently the game has spanned across the pacific and landed in China. There are a lot of people over there. Those WarCrack peddlers are sure to clean up! With sheer marketing genius, Blizzard introduced its “Friends” Trial pass. This pass allows you to give your game to a friend and let him play a month for free. The game was also dropped in price at selected EB locations for only $34.99 Canadian before Xmas, and later driven up after the new year to $59.99! First fix is free baby! But to those anxious to start a friends pass be warned! You must enter in your credit card info in order to play. You will not be charged though, unless you decide to continue. Which in that case you will be charged $14.99 per month or $12.99 for 6 months. There is a way to avoid giving up your info though. If you purchase a WOW 2 month paid card for $37.99 you don’t need to give up any credit card info.. Oh what was that? I didn’t mention this was a pay to play game? Welcome to the Word of WarCrack fuckos!

Parting Words:

To those of you still hungry for a fix let me tell you this. You better work on your character extra hard. You need to get the most out of your 3 months invested financially into this endeavor. Most people say in three months they will reach 60 easy; 60 being the highest character level, until Blizzard says otherwise. After those long late nights and early mornings come and go your time will run out. Did you take your character as far as expected? Will you want to continue or can you walk away? Tread with extreme caution when you enter the World of WarCraft! Because it might make you believe that its virtual world is your new reality.
